How to Start a Profitable Local Web Marketing Business This Weekend
Who else thinks that you've got to have years of experience to be a web marketing guru in your local community?
If you think you've got to spend the next few years of your life "studying" gimmicks, gurus and "secret" techniques for becoming successful online... THINK again!
The truth is, unless you are just starting out, and have absolutely no idea how to do the very basics, you have all that you need to succeed already.
As a matter of fact, regardless of what you may read elsewhere, become a local business consultant is probably the BEST, easiest and most evergreen opportunity for people like you who want to earn 6 figures a year... Doing work that you really love.
Consider this:
If you can register a domain name, pick hosting and install a blog (even using an automated script, which takes 30 seconds) you are ALREADY ahead of 85% of the learning curve, relative to the clients and customers in YOUR community who can't. (and that includes doctors, realtors, lawyers, accountants and all kinds of high priced professionals who don't have the first clue about how to get set up online and are willing to PAY for someone else to do the heavy lifting for them)
Or, consider THIS:
If you are familiar with how to set up an email auto responder campaign, you can quite literally earn a few hundred dollars an HOUR helping those same high priced professionals start newsletters, and create automated conversational content campaigns that go out to their subscribers.
I have a friend and client who literally quit her day job as a medical technician to help doctors and dentists create content marketing campaigns - specifically EMAIL marketing campaigns, and with no experience other than a few months of studying online marketing best practices, launched a 6 figure business from scratch in 2012. (and now gets an average of over $300 an hour from new clients to set up simple email follow ups that just about everyone reading this right now probably knows how to do, or could learn pretty quickly!)
The key is, pick a vertical (a niche or industry) that you have a little bit of familiarity with, and then apply your online marketing knowledge to help that audience grow their business.
Use free classifieds to advertise. Contact local business listings via email, or use their contact forms. Build PROACTIVE sites in the area that you live,and literally give the sites away... in return for 6 or 9 or 12 month continuity contracts.
For example - you can literally register a hyper local domain name in your community that caters to a niche you know, build a blog on it, and then offer to give it away to a professional who works in that business, on the condition that they hire you to do 12 months of SEO for $200 a month.
They just got a free website, and a great domain in their local area - and you just got a $2400 client, without much effort at all.
You can literally do this sort of thing all day long... and if you're creative, and motivated, and truly want to build a viable, valuable and enduring business, the only thing that stops you from doing what you LOVE from a living is allowing yourself to be distracted by gurus, gimmicks, gadgets, noise and nonsense.
